Sunday, 30th January 2011...

Was very busy today. Although it was a long day, will summarise it as much as possible.

Went to Kopitiam Square for breakfast before going to the market to buy meat, new year pastries etc for the new year. Went home after that. My bro did his homework on the tax deductible vehicle.

Left home at 1pm plus and went to Kopitiam Square, again, for lunch. Went to Bugis after that to buy shoes. I brought my tutorials along, and together with my brother, did them on the vehicle that qualifies for Capital Allowances.

It was tough as the Van (supposedly less than 3000kg) was shaking throughout the journey and the rain made travelling worse. Went to CHinatown to buy Dad's clotes for the New Year. Had dinner there.

Went to my Primary school form teacher's house to slot a new year card at the doorstep. Went home after that. Parents went to buy mandarin oranges and other stuff.

Cannot wait for tomorrow as it will be the biggest royal rumble match in history, with 40 men participating this year. My brother is also eager for it. Only 34 participants have been announced and saw multiple online reports that 2 of the big stars (wont say who yet as it is not confirmed) will be returning tomorrow. Yes, they are big stars for the good old days...

Saturday, 29th January 2011...

The day is highlighted by International Finance class test, even though it is a weekend.

Met up with Joseph in Compass Point and went to school together. Studied on the way. Saw Thar Hwe on Bus 15 and the 3 of us met Huiqi outside LT19. Studied and studied. More and more people reached blah blah blah...

Went into LT 19, and Thar Hwe is an lol guy. He went with us as well although he was scheduled to be at LT18.

Can you believe that? The whole LT19 is freaking cold. SO cold to the extent that during the reading time, I had a headache. During the test, it got worse and my forehead was a bit hot.

Luckily I still managed to do the paper but forgot certain parts which I had memorised.

Went home with Joseph after the test. Felt better on bus 27 but it was raining heavily and the rain continued till now, which is 11.31pm.

Friday, 28th January 2011...

I know, I should not be blogging at this time, so treat this as a mini-break from studying IF.

Not much interesting events today. Today was How Cher's birthday. A few minutes after 12am, I wanted to send him a birthday message but when I picked up my phone, saw his missed call. Lol so had a chance to wish him happy birthday as well.

FOI tutorial... (nice summary for the first half of the day?)

Played monopoly deal and studied for IF at the same time. Multi-tasking? I had a lucky hand today. Really lucky. 2 of the games ended up with me having a total of 40 + and 50+ million respectively. In a game, I had 3 yellow, 1 brown, 2 light green, 1 light blue and 2 orange properties. But that was difficult to game as well.

IF lecture... Short and simple, almost similar to the FOI last week.

CMA lecture... Not many people turned up. All went home to study I presume.

Walked to the bus stop. Bus 15 came when we were about to reach the bus stop. Joseph, How Cher, Thar Hwe, Eldred, Audrey and I boarded it. Joseph and I alighted at Century Square. Took bus 27 to Compass Point.

Went to KFC to buy dinner. Joseph and I went to separate queues, side by side. He was served first and we were predicting who was to be served all the food first.

My turn came. Both Joseph and I took a long time and I bet the people queuing behind us are irritated. I ordered 4 snackers: Shrooms burger, Chicken drumstick, Roller and Winglets. Changed 1 to cheese fries. Was served only 3 sets as the counter missed out the winglets. After everything was in order, I paid $17.30 in loads of notes and coins.

Counted the money for the cashier. Gave her a $10 note and 2 $2 notes and said $14. Gave her a dollar and 2 50 cent coins and said $16 in which a 50 cent coin slipped out of her hand. Handed her 5 20 cent coins, making it $17 but 2 of the 20 cent coins slipped off her hand. Handed her 3 10 cent coins to make it $17.30 and all 3 coins slipped off her hand. Lol.

I finished got served faster than Joseph. Both his counter and my counter is quite slow. Finally when he was done, I realised I was never served the cheese fries. Went back to exchange and luckily, the person serving remembered that.

Went home.

Wednesday, 26th January 2011...

I can confidently say that today was a day of surprises. Really, many unexpected turn out to be expected. There was a highlight of the day which I have identified which made many felt worried and at the same time, laughed to tears. What sort of event was that? Hmmm quite interesting.

Started the day by doing CMA tutorial. Yes, I did CMA tutorial at 7am plus. Did half of the tutorial and went to take shuttle bus to school. Missed the first bus as I was slightly late. Bus reached school at 8.30am. Went to the Free Access Lab to print notes.

Was in the same lab as Guang Min. Left the lab at around 8.56am. The first surprise I presume happened here. While I was walking out of the lab, I saw 2 familiar figures walking out of a lab. At that point in time, I could not recognise them. However, as they were turning to walk to the exit at the lift, I heard the sound of badminton rackets knocking. Ain't I carrying 3 rackets at the moment? It must be someone I know. And there when I turned to the exit, was Eldred and Audrey, standing just inside, barely squeezing into the lift. Or maybe I was wrong and that it was empty. The lift was half closing so I saw them while they did not see me.

Here comes the second surprise. I GOT LOST IN SCHOOL. OMG HOW DID IT HAPPEN, AND WILL EVER HAPPEN? Yup, Business Park has blocked all the roads to Mensa completely and as the lab was just by Business Park, I found myself walking in the enclosed area outside Biz Park. Called Audrey and sms-ed Jerald for a little help. Finally found my way there.

Here comes the third surprise, and it is quite a treat that every paragraph contains a surprise. I reached and the badminton court was still empty. It was 9.10am at the moment. Nothing to do so just wandered around. Saw 2 girls running in the stadium. They ran and ran and ran without stopping and then when they were turning in my direction, one of them looked like Huiqi. What a resemblance. The other girl looks like Venus. Wow? Then when she ran past the spectators stand, IT WAS HUIQI AND VENUS. Lol.

People started to come one by one. Sorry no surprises in this paragraph as I could not figure out what to put in here. Played badminton with Allen, in a losing effort, then played with Eldred, in a losing effort as well. Allen vs Eldred was next and it ended in a 11-0. Allen wanted revenge and I beat him after deuc-ing 13-11. This is the curse of sports hall. My winning rate is only 1 every time I was there and the remaining matches will end up in a loss.

Started playing random badminton matches while some just chatted or went out. I went to the stadium, ran 2 rounds and was a tired already. Had a 50m sprint after that. Went back in and saw Allen practising standing broad jump so I jumped with him. Cant seem to get past 230cm. Did a few pull-ups and inclined pull-ups as well.

Played badminton with Jerald after that. We played netting, which turned out to be quite fun. Played table tennis after that. Won Jerald once and lost 3 straight rounds to Jerald and Minhui, with Allen as my partner. However, despite the outcome, it is the fun that matters.

The highlight of the day, as mentioned earlier happened during the first doubles match. Allen did a perfect smash. It landed near the edge, nice curve, nice strength etc. He started to celebrate this and ran to the barriers surrounding the table tennis area. He jumped and with one feet already over, he climbed the other leg over. Somehow, he tripped and down he goes, right in front of our very eyes. We were shocked and "BOOM", 75% of the barricade toppled. Allen started laughing on the ground. I was the nearest and went to check him out. We all felt worried for him but at the same time, cant stop laughing. Most of us crouched while laughing. Cant take it. You will do the same if you are there as well.

Went to bathe after that and went to Mensa for lunch. I ordered drinks for everyone. This is what ordered: 4 large Bandung (forgot about the spelling), 1 small Bandung, 1 large milo, 1 large fruit punch and a Fun Choy at a price of $9.60. The Auntie had a hard time preparing. Lol. I had a hard time bringing them to the tables. Carried 6 drinks in a tray but my muscles cannot take it as they kept shaking. Took 4 cups instead but still struggling. Used too much strength in the morning. Took me 3 journeys to bring all the things to the table.

Shall cut short here. After lunch, went to lecture, which we were late for about 15 minutes. Lecture for the week can be considered half lecture, half olive, if you get what I mean.

Went to the lab with all those who still had lessons. How Cher and I went to free access lab to print CMA notes instead. Saw Bridget and Fathima instead. Went back to the lab to find the rest.

How Cher and I went to Biz Park to buy some food as he is hungry. Went to OTCM tutorial, which was tiring. How Cher and Kok Soon cannot stop laughing at what I wrote for the last quiz. One of the functions was: To coat the fecal matter with a layer of oil. I remembered the keywords only: coat, fecal and oil. I forgot the structure so I wrote: To coat a layer of fecal oil. LOLOLOLOL.

After lesson, rain was pouring heavily. Waited in Biz Park with How Cher for rain to stop before taking bus 15, then bus 27.

Next surprise. Saw Wanni on the bus. Had a long chat with her for about 75% of the journey. I think we talked quite loudly.

Got a call from mom to go to Aunt's place to get a can opener. The can opener is spoilt. She tried to borrow from one of our neighbours but it was spoilt as well. The one I got from Aunt was spoilt as well. Lol.

Called Yanling but she was not at home. Called Wilson but he did not picked up. Wanted to find Royston but then another neighbour walked past and so, managed to borrow from him.

Tuesday, 25th January 2011...

Only had 2 hours of lesson, or lecture to be exact since Taxation tutorial has been cancelled. Left my house at 10.10am to go to school.

Went to the cross junction between Compassvale Primary and Secondary and saw a bus 27, 95% full. It turned to the bus stop nearest to my house and failed to get all the commuters waiting on board so some was left behind.

Walked to the stop outside Compassvale Primary school but still got quite a few people there so went to the stop outside Compass Point instead. Halfway there, a bus 27 appeared. I will definitely miss it no matter I run to the stop or run back to the previous stop. However, I was considered lucky as the bus was 90% full and although it was not as full as the first one, I can see it taking the remaining and some fresh commuters.

Reached the stop outside Compass Point and there in a distance, was a green man. Yes, a familiar one. No, it is not the green man we always see when crossing the road. It was Joseph wearing a green shirt. Saw him again even though we did not planned this. This happened almost every Tuesday. What a coincidence.

The next bus had empty seats. Well that was good. Alighted and the next 27 bus came and there was Yanling. Took bus 23 to school. Late for a long 9 minutes. Had lecture and lunch at Business Park.

Then we split. How Cher, Eldred, Audrey, Thar Hwe and I went to the Lab while the rest went for their lessons or home. We rached the lab at 1.53pm, the lab where Audrey they all will have their CRA tutorial at 2pm. We printed fast and at 1.55pm, How Cher and I were out of there. Just nice for Mr Koh to start lesson soon.

Went to Compass point to have a haircut after that.

Monday, 24th January 2011...

Unlucky start to the day. Took bus 27 to school and I had to stand near the door as it was full. Decided to stop outside IKEA and change to bus 168 as I never encountered a bus 168 that has no seats. That was, until today, which was my first encounter. Stood near the door again. ZZZ.

Just as bus 168 reached the bus stop I normally alight, bus 23 came in front of bus 168. Luckily, I managed to caught it. Ironically, I was standing by the door again...

CRA tutorial was 90 minutes long. Had lunch and played monopoly deal after that. The ironic part of it was we had a Taxation class test on that afternoon. Wenbin won the first and I won 3 straight games after that. Wenbin won the next round again, breaking my 3 consecutive wins streak and Jiong Zhen picked up a win in the final round. Allen had an unlucky hand today. At around 2pm, only Jiong Zhen, Wenbin and I went for IF tutorial while the rest went to the Library to study Tax.

All was present for the tutorial except Allen, Jiamin and Michelle. Even had a student from another class whom I guess that he missed his original IF lesson.

Studied Taxation all the way after that.

Taxation test without my calculator. My calculator was borrowed by Zhen Hua on Friday, who in turn lent it to his friend for the Accounting test. My bro needs his calculator while my sis's calculator battery went flat. Bought a battery during the weekend so it was not a problem. WIll only get back this Friday, or maybe next Friday as Zhen Hua's lesson from Monday to Thursday are in Sentosa and his schedule and mine dont see eye to eye.

Well, people always say not to change your answer based on your first thought and impression. This is the problem with me, always changing my correct answer to the wrong one.

Test was from 4.40pm to 5.40pm and because reading time was at 4.30pm, I thought that the paper is until 5.30pm. Rushed all the way and when the clock hits 5.30pm, I managed to complete. Oh but there is still 10 minutes left. Checked my work.

Changed the hire purchase answer from deducting interest to without deducting as it feels right to do it. But reading through it again and again makes me wonder whether did I make a mistake by changing. Taking into account all the encounters in the past where I changed to the wrong answer, I presumed this was wrong and changed back to the original answer.

After the test, while discussing, I realised that my final answer was the wrong one? That was because only a handful did the same as me. This led me to a conclusion. The problem is not whether should I change or not. It is because no matter how much and how many times I changed, I will always end up with the wrong answer. OMG!!!

Exam time table is out. 4 out of 5 papers are in TCC> The only test I had in TCC was CMA1 main paper. I slept for 1 hour the night before and my grades plummeted from a coursework grade of "A", to an overall "B", meaning that I scored a "C" or below for the main paper. Hope I can break this curse.

Friday, 21st January 2011...

Woke up at 6.30am to do tutorials. My dad, mum and sis had to work in Seagate that day. My dad sent my brother to school before returning to fetch my mum, sis and aunt to Kopitiam Square for breakfast.

Did FOI tutorial. Left 2 more questions and I had to leave soon. Ate hello panda biscuit and 2 bananas for breakfast as the bananas was rotting soon so my mum told me to finish it off. Went out at around 8am.

Halfway to Compass Point, at the Sculpture Park, I saw Royston behind me, in his formal attire. We discussed about CRA presentation and some stuffs throughout the journey. He went to look for his friend while I took the shuttle bus to school.

Reached school and saw Wenbin outside the tutorial room already. He was already there since 8am. Had FOI tutorial, only for an hour, so our normal 3 hours break became 4 hours. Saw 2A01 having their CRA presentation beside our class. To sum up, I saw 2A01, 2A02, 2A04, 2A06 and including my own class 2A05, that is 5 out of 7 presentations I had happened to see.

Had lunch in business park and went to lab. Did and printed CMA project and played monopoly deal in Business Park. Won for the first time. There was a time where my cards was deal breaker, deal breaker, sly deal, forced deal, double rent, go and a property. Good or bad hand?

Had IF tutorial and went to do some last minute editing for CMA project and went for CMA lecture.

Saw Zhen Hua in the lab and he borrowed my calculator for his friend. He had an accounting test that day which he told me he did not really study. Hopefully, I can get it back in the weekends as I had tax test on Monday.

Submitted CMA project directly there. Just like our CMA tutorial, Mr Leong was in the CMA lesson. In our CMA tutorial the previous day, he also collected the survey forms just like the lecture. Only difference was that he left after collecting in the lecture but in the tutorial, he stayed for almost an hour for the lesson.

After lecture, 13 of us chatted outside the LT. Joseph went home first as he did not want my dad to fetch as my sis, mum and aunt was also in the van.

The 13 of us walked to the business school entrance and there is where we said goodbye to Thar Hwe. We walked to the overhead bridge and there is where we said goodbye to Luck Koon. Then we came to the first flight of stairs where we said goodbye to Huiqi and Mabel.

At the bus stop, they were deciding whether to go and have dinner with the ex-1A04 students. That was when bus 8 came and Wenbin left. They wanted to go with them but since Wenbin had already left, they did not go in the end. Bus 69 came and Allen, Minhui, Eldred and Audrey boarded.

The remaining ones, Jerald, How Cher, Jiamin and I all walked to our destination. The 3 of us walked the other way while I made my way back to the school to wait for my dad.

The surprise came...

We went to Bedok to had dinner and while I was walking around with my sis to decide what to eat, I saw Allen, Minhui, Eldred and Audrey having their dinner at the same place as well. They were also surprised. Eldred said "This is Jie Ling" or something.

Had dinner and went home.

Tuesday, 18th January 2011...

My 2nd consecutive post. Nothing much today.

Lesson at 11pm. Went to wait for bus at the bus stop outside Compassvale Primary school at 10.15am but bus reached around 15 minutes later. Saw Joseph on the bus for the 155,678th time. Ok, I was exaggerating lol.

We took bus 23 to school and reached just in time.

During break, we went to Business Park for lunch. Allen, Jerald, Wenbin and Luck Koon sat at a table while How Cher, Minhui, Jiamin and I sat at another table that was not beside them.

However, I noticed that we are all surrounded by A&F people. Fathima and Bridget was at the table behind us. Mundeep and his friends were also at the other side, 2A01 students were beside us. Samuel and Jia Hao they all to. Not too far away, Saw Ivan as well. Not Luck Koon's bf but the DHL one.

After lunch, went with How Cher to print OTCM notes while the rest stayed. While searching for a Lab, saw Audrey, Eldred, Thar Hwe, Dominic, Hui Ting and Arron having their presentation. How Cher made Audrey smile but it was when Arron was presenting. The next lab was Shenglong's group presenting CRA. Lol.

Found a lab, switched on com and realised I forgot to bring paper. Lol so switched off again. Went back to see the presentation. This time it was Audrey's turn to present and How Cher looked at her from outside but luckily, Audrey did not see him and be affected.

Went back to find the rest and went to lesson.

Went home after that.

Monday, 17th January 2011...

CRA presentation today. Need to dress formally. Did not brought any clothes to change.

Took the first shuttle bus that left at 8.02am. Wenbin had already reached school when the bus just left. Reached school at 8.25am. Rehearsed with Wenbin.

Fiona reached later and the 3 of us rehearsed. Candice was the last to reached and she prepared her presentation so we did not have the chance to rehearse as a group.

Presentation started at 10.10am, as requested by us. It kicked off with Allen's group presenting question 1, then our group with question 2 and so on. There was a mini break after the 3rd group presented. The Q&A after each presentation was quite scary. Our group did not hesitate and stop when questions was thrown to us, which was a good thing.

After all the groups had presented, it was around 12.20pm. Feedback time. Allen's group first.

Our group next. Feedback was given in accordance to presentation. First Candice, then Fiona, then Wenbin then me. Mr Koh was a very observant marker as his feedback ranged from presentation style to dressing. Yup, he said it is advisable not to wear dark colours but since the whole group chose dark, there was group effort. He also commented on Wenbin's belt.

My feedback was ok. He said I was monotonous but I did not pause. He said I should pause more often. However, it showed that I know what information I was going to present as I did not stop too much.

Went to meet Allen they all as they were already released. Had lunch. Then 3rd group came to have lunch. 4th group came to Business Park too but left after a while. Guess they are skipping lunch. Finally last group came and by the time they bought their food, it was 12.58pm, 2 minutes to next tutorial.

When we went up, it was 1,10pm, 5 minutes to being mark absent. Luckily, our IF tutor knew that we had CRA presentation so she did not mark anyone as late. When we reached the class, there was only Candice, Fiona and group 4 who indeed skipped lunch.

Group 3 reached and it was 1.17pm. Can heard Chester saying s*** when he saw the time but IF tutor did not mark anyone absent. Last group reached at 1.25pm.

Tutorial ended early even though we started half an hour late. Went home after that.

Friday, 14th January 2011...

Went to take shuttle bus to school today. However, when I reached, the first bus is still there but it was full so I waited for the next one. Reached school at 8.35am. Went straight down to lab.

Walked past lab 1, walked past lab 2 and while walking to lab 3, saw Audrey and Eldred walking out of it. They left the lab for breakfast. I went to one of the Free Access lab to print stuff at 8.41am. 4 students, including me are printing stuff so we rotate. Finished printing at 8.52am and made my way up for lesson.

After lesson, we went down to Business Park for lunch. After that, Jiong Zhen, took out monopoly deal to play with Allen and Wenbin. Allen taught me how to play so we played till 12.05pm where we made our way to Lab 8 to do project.

Reached lab 8 at 12.08pm. Wenbin and I went to do CRA presentation slides with Candice and Fiona. Allen they all also did their ppt slides in the same lab. We finished earlier than them so we played tetris for a while.

Went to Business Park as some just ended lesson and have not eaten yet. The 4 of us played monopoly deal again. Went for lecture after that. After lecture, went to Cheers with Jerald, jiamin and Michelle to buy something to eat. Went to find the rest after that and they were playing monopoly deal. Went to lecture after that.

After lecture ended, which is 72 minutes earlier than the time for the lecture, which was 48 minutes out of 120 minutes, I went home.

Wanted to take bus 15 but 3 bus *, 2 bus 23, 5 bus 69 and 1 bus 518 had passed but still no 15 and the bus stop was already full and most of them were waiting for 15 so I walked. While walking, saw more buses except 15. Suddenly, 2 bus 15 drove past and both were full. Expected.

At the 2nd stop, a bus 168 stopped in front of me so I took that to Century Square to take bus 27. Went to Compass Point and walked to Kopitiam Square to wait for Dad to buy dinner. I explored Kopitiam Square while waiting for him.

Reached home just before 7pm.

Thursday, 13th January 2011...

My first official post for the year.

Took shuttle bus to school today. Joseph was running a fever in the morning so I went on my own. Planning to take the first shuttle bus but when I reached, the bus went off. Took the 2nd bus at 8.02am. At around 8.08am, Joseph came onto the bus and sat beside me and rested throughout the journey.

Reached school at around 8.28am. Went to Lab 3 where I did my OTCM quiz and scored 90 out of 100, which is a little careless as I saw false as true in the first question, 10% gone.

Went for CRA lecture after that. CMA tutorial after that.

At 12.30pm, class ended and we went to Business Park to have lunch. 8 of us had lunch there. After lunch, Minhui went for her CDS class while the 7 of us went to the Computer Lab. After searching for 1 lab, we found a lab enough to accommodate all of us. How Cher left after that, which left us with 6, enough for us to play 6 players tetris.

Some did OTCM quiz, some printed stuff while some did OTCM tutorial. It was important to do tutorial as How Cher and my class;s OTCM tutor collected everyone's tutorial to mark. However, many of us did not do and some even better, did not print. How Cher's unlucky streak continues. Last year, he did all FA tutorials but one, and that one tutorial happened to be check. The same happened for OTCM. He printed the wrong tutorial and went to print before class, only to realise that it will be marked. Luckily, he finished it.

Back to topic. Some who had nothing to do started playing tetris. After a few more minutes, Wenbin and I joined jiamin and Mabel to play tetris which was later joined by Allen and Jerald. 6 of us, 6 players and we talked throughout. Quite entertaining to play 'live' rather than playing at home because we can hear things like "Gang Wenbin, gang Jerald" or "Wenbin you want more lines ar?" or "F***, I died".

At around 3.30pm all of us except Allen left as he was waiting for Minhui. The remaining 5 of us made our way out where I went a separate way. The 4 of them had OTCM tutorial at 4pm.

While walking out, saw Joseph, who was too far away and he took bus 8, and made it on time to be the last passenger to board. Waited for bus 15 to Century Square.

At Century Square, an empty bus 27 came and I board it. Behind was bus 15 and I was guessing whether there was anyone I know who will take bus 27. The passengers from bus 15 alighted and rushed to take 27. Saw 2 familiar faces, Yu Xiang and Yan Ling. Yan Ling boarded while Yu Xiang walked.

Yu Xiang saw me and pointed to Yan Ling and at the same time, signalled to Yan Ling that I was behind her but I dun think she understands.

Alighted bus 27 with Yan Ling, and walked to her block and then to my block.

Went up to my house and my neighbours child was playing scooter outside. She wanted to play with my sister and I so we played with her. When her younger brother returned, they were joined by their elder sister. My mum happens to be the nanny for 2 of them and they still remembered. Played with them for about 2 hours.

Tired, did tutorials, sleep.

Re-blogging...

Well, my last post was a quarter of a year away from this post. Seems like I need to start blogging in the new year. First but not least, happy 2011. Will try to blog as much as possible in the future. As of this writing, I think I will have an average of 5 posts each week for January. How about that? We shall see.
